Digital Wedding Photography

One of the moments that most people would really love to preserve is the events on their wedding day; with digital wedding photography you can capture all those amazing moments for everyone to see. Although times have changed and it is quite normal to have a DVD made as well, nothing can replace a conventional photo.

If you want to take photographs of your friend’s or relations wedding then you will have to do it on your own because you won’t have an assistant like the professionals have. Here are some tips if you find yourself at a friend or relations wedding taking photos with your digital camera.

Many amateur photographers make the mistake of taking pictures with a boring background which is not something you want in a wedding photo. Often when there is a good background there are just too many people in the shot, so if this is the situation, just try and capture a nice head and shoulders shot of the couple.

If some of the guests are wearing glasses, they can be asked to stand with their heads a little down or sideways to avoid the glare effect from spectacles that normally appears when a flash is used. Although some interesting effects can be achieved when you take a picture of a subject with the light behind them this may not be the right occasion to experiment so make sure the light is behind you when you take your shot.

Natural, wedding photos always look better than staged ones but difficult to capture when you are too close so a powerful zoom lens is a great advantage. Allays be ready for the next digital wedding photograph because you can’t ask people to repeat those unforgettable moments that everybody wants to see again and again.

Digital cameras rely on two things, memory and power and the last thing you want when you take your shots is to run out of memory or for the batteries to die on you. As a general rule, if your camera is a 6 mega pixel resolution then you will need a large storage capacity card that will hold a few hundred shots at high resolution so a 1 gigabyte card should be sufficient.

Always remember that the higher the resolution used, the larger the size of prints that can be made so always keep a secure copy of your work so you can re-use them in the future. To ensure your pictures are safe and ready to print, save them as soon as possible to your computer’s hard drive and create a CD you can present to the couple.

If you are interested in digital wedding photography you should enroll in a college and who knows you may find your passion becomes a profession.
